Health & safety and your responsibility
Last updated: 2026-10-06 · version 1
The short version
- VVake is a fitness and wellbeing app. It is not a medical device and it does not give medical advice.
- Plans, coach replies (written by AI, they can be wrong), heart rate, zones, points, Move Quests, challenges and reminders are suggestions only.
- Sensor and health data can be inaccurate, late or change, so a recommendation can be wrong or not right for you.
- You decide, and you are responsible for your own choices. If anything feels wrong, painful or dangerous, stop. Chest pain, dizziness or shortness of breath: stop and call emergency services.
- See a doctor before you start or change your training, especially with a health condition, an injury, a pregnancy or medication.
- Outside, watch traffic, terrain and weather, and keep your headphones low enough to hear what's around you. VVake is not for children under 13.
The apps ask you to accept this text before you start (“I understand and accept that I'm responsible for my own decisions”), and again whenever it changes. You can read it any time in the app: You › Settings › Health & safety disclaimer.
What VVake is
VVake is a fitness and wellbeing app made by the VVake team. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any disease, and nothing in it is medical advice.
Everything is a suggestion
Your plan, today's session, the daily move, Move Quests, challenges, City Clash, reminders, heart-rate zones, effort points and the coach's replies are suggestions to help you move. The coach's replies are written by AI: they can be wrong, incomplete or not suited to you, even when they sound sure.
Data can be wrong
Heart rate, distance, pace, steps, sleep and other health data come from sensors, your phone, your watch and Apple Health. They can be inaccurate, late or missing, and they change over time, so plans and advice built on them can be off. Some recommendations can be wrong in ways the VVake team cannot foresee or control.
You decide
You know your body best. You decide whether, how and how hard you train, and you are responsible for your own decisions. Never follow a suggestion that feels wrong for you: easier, shorter or a rest day is always fine.
Stop when something is wrong
Stop at once if you feel pain, chest pain or pressure, dizziness or faintness, unusual shortness of breath, a racing or irregular heartbeat, or anything else that worries you. If it seems serious, call your local emergency number (911 in North America, 112 in Europe). See a health professional before you train again.
See a doctor first
Talk to a doctor before you start a new training plan or change yours a lot, especially if you have a heart, lung, joint or other health condition, an injury, are pregnant or recently gave birth, take medication, or haven't been active for a long time. A health professional's advice always comes before VVake's.
Stay safe outside
Follow the rules of the road, watch for traffic, uneven ground and the weather, stay visible in the dark, and keep your headphones low enough to hear what's around you. Don't look at your phone or watch when it isn't safe. No streak, reward or challenge is worth a risk.
Age
VVake is not for children under 13. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live, a parent or guardian must agree before you use it. Weight goals and meal reminders are for adults only.
Rewards
Points and $VVAKE prizes reward effort and consistency, never pushing past your limits. Your health comes first.
Changes to this text
When this text changes, the apps ask you to read and accept the new version. Nothing in it takes away rights you have under the law where you live.
